Life Lessons In Small Transformations

Life Lessons In Small Transformations

I'm Gentle Yoga Warrior and every now and again, I like to self host, one of my shows.  I learned so much from our wonderful guests, the amazing guests that we have on the show and via them, sharing the dark night of their soul, their wisdom, hope it helps you feel inspired to transform your life.  Transformation doesn't have to be massive. In fact, sometimes when you're on the path to transformation, it's not always obvious at the time that you're transforming. And it's only through hindsight, and looking back that we can see these changes. So for today's show, I would like to call it Life lessons in small transformations, you know, sometimes we feel like we got to, like make big changes to and almost to a place where we don't feel like we're kind of good enough, or cause you're so busy with your job. Maybe you have a family, maybe you don't. Either way, people are busy, busy, busy in different ways....

I'm gentle yoga warrior. And every now and again, I like to self host, one of my shows I learned so much from our wonderful guests, the amazing guests that we have on the show and via them, sharing the dark night of their soul, their wisdom, hope it helps you feel inspired to transform your life. And transformation doesn't have to be massive. Either way, people are busy, busy, busy in different ways. And I feel that most humans want to develop and change themselves. Yet at the same time, we can kind of be a bit far too hard on ourselves. We're not implementing fairness, we're not showing ourselves love, which in a sense is kind of blocking our creativity, and our creativity equals to more meaning. And then when we have more meaning in life, we feel joy. So the fairness is a very important factor in all of this. And when I talk about fairness and mean, I believe that picking a couple of things to make changes on a few things at a time, which will allow you to kind of set forth on your path have kind of been this the best version of yourself, but in a fair way. So if you have like a 10 hour working, it's just a hypothetical example. But if you have a 10 hour working week, and then you go home and you've you've got friends, family, etc. Thinking that you've got like hours and hours each day to make a change at this point, is really not showing yourself fairness and love. Equally, spending on your spare time kind of curled up like a cat in front of the TV or whatever it is that you do is not showing yourself love. So how do you get the balance? I feel the balance equals small transformations, which equals the end goal of jive. So let me back up a bit. First of all, we really need to know what it is that we want, what we kind of feel that we really need inside our being. And that can be half the battle half the question. And it's one that only you can really do. I can't tell you what you need. Someone else can't tell you what you need. We can guide you though, on a kind of journey to find that. So what is it right now that you would like to change within your life

if something came to you write it down. If it didn't, do not worry because it there's going to be a meditation at the end of this talk, which you can do which may help you find what it is that you really want. I know from studying a lot of yogic philosophy etc. And different philosophies. That generally enlightenment wasn't come. Alignment doesn't come from living a purely hedonistic lifestyle. The things that we kind of used to kind of stop ourselves from feeling like alcohol TV too much screen time, shopping, eating too much, etc. Of course, these things can be fun and balance. But I think that's kind of where we kind of lost our way. And in many ways, the more ways we numb ourselves, the less ways there is for us to make small but wonderful transformations, a transformation. To me a transformation is when we find a kind of stream off our life, so just think of your life as a river. And quite often, we're kind of racing through the rapids to get to the end. But the end is a waterfall in a sense that it leads to the end of our days. Of course, you need to use your imagination that with this, but we spend a whole life thinking, I want to be next to the next part on the river, the next part, the next part. So I would say the biggest transformation that you could do with small, small, small small steps would be to first of all, find fairness with yourself Love towards yourself, which will enhance your creativity, meaning and joy by becoming more present. Ah, but I am more present you may think, but are we we go through our days. And then there's kind of like a stream of like, kind of internal dialogue that we have, we kind of if you don't believe me, just listen to your inner thoughts for a day and kind of see how much we narrate our lives. And our brain has a way of finding an easy way to do stuff. So it will kind of short or rather kind of remember situations and then decide those situations are just the same as a previous one, because then it has like kind of category, think of your kind of thoughts, it kind of grip in the library. And all the time when new experiences calm, is trying to categorise where to put that in your mind. That it helps us in many ways, but the trouble is, we become reactive rather than active. And by being reactive, we make decisions judgments. Which aren't always fair to what's happening right there in the moment. Yet equally, so many of us have so much unresolved pain that we've just not had the chance to process. Of course, by no means, do I have the ability to help you transform your pain. That is something that you'd have to get helpful. If you've got lots of pain to kind of process. I can talk from my personal experience. And start of life wasn't the most easy of life. And I feel that I didn't get the support that I always need it. I feel that there was a lot of pain. And they feel like it kind of set the barrier of the my mantra of being I am not good enough. Or I don't deserve this. Or work harder, work harder. Without having to be self indulgent, and kind of share all those things.

I would just like to say that I feel that the biggest gift that I gave myself was to find a spiritual practice. Now, I strongly believe that there's not one shoe fits all that we all have different paths or unique paths. But having looked at all different methods, they all come back to the same thing. Present Moment change in the neural pathways of our brain through meditation and the way we think wanting to kind of make ourselves the biggest brightest version but treating ourselves with fairness by being in the present. So if you dear listener are feeling that you want more out of your life, that the things that used to kind of feel fun, kind of a bit tainted by repetition or kind of the realisation that there's so much more to life sometimes we can, like look so much externally to kind of bring the happiness event. And I strongly believe that we were born in this world as humans to have a human experience to kind of really connect with the earth with with life and with each other. Equally, I believe that we were born into this world to then connect to our inner world, our inner self. And there's no way around it really, meditation is the key. And not just meditation, where you sit once a day, and some people do different meditations, you could do much, or you can just sit and listen to your breath. There are many different meditations, you can stare at nature, so many different meditations that you can do. It's the art form is to bring that meditation into your everyday life, so that each and every moment, you are present. And in the now, of course, that is quite a difficult task in many ways. And I'm not going to say that I'm always present in in the now and always present in the moment. I am human, after all, a spiritual being. And we've all got a kind of different conditionings from things that have happened or things that we perceived happened or things that we feel that were unfair in life, and there's been a lot of pain for all of us, I think every one of us has gone through some sort of pain in some way. But the golden nugget, the gift out of all of this is, can one learn to be completely present, through using all the senses in their everyday life. So if you're walking down the road, don't kind of obviously there's times you need to think and plan. I'm not saying you can't do that. But I am inviting you to see if you can go through a day. Or maybe just try and start off with an hour of your day, where you're completely in the present. And if your mind starts to wander off, just think, just tell yourself mentally, my mind is wandering off. But that's okay. I'm now in the present, I'm now in the moment. I really would love to hear from you. If this worked for you and how this helped you. I feel for really busy people or people that maybe have too much time and then have too much time to overthink so that there's also that side of it. Either you haven't got enough time or you've got too much time but either way one is overthinking. I really entice you to try and do this. I also feel that if you are struggling with meditation that you can get help in some sort of way, perhaps you can join an online, your group, an online meditation group or listen to a sound track. And then develop your practice from there. Maybe like five minutes a day, put the time around and just listen to your breath and then kind of develop and develop it. It's like a muscle it kind of just needs to be developed for a time. The good news is I am going to start to do personalised meditations. So if there is something you're really struggling with, if you go to my website, the gentle yoga warrior.com You can request a personalised recorded meditation from there just reach out to me and we can do that.

I also feel I would love to do a monthly meditation session with others. So if you want interested in that, please reach out to me as well join my mailing list, and we can see what we can do for you. There are many ways to develop your meditation muscle. So back to the themes are how to make small but transformational changes in your life. Five Tips kind of summarised tips which I've just covered, but a few more on top of that. So one, slow down. I know you've probably got a ridiculously busy life. I'm not saying you can be slow the whole time but just find the moments when you can be slow. So kind of really try and slow down where you can slow down. Point number two Can you find some ways to do less? So maybe you feel like your life is like a closet overflowing? Can you take some things out of the closet, even just one thing, just find one way to save time. Number three, regardless of where you live, maybe you live in the countryside, me, maybe you live in the city, make time to connect with nature in some way. So a walk in your local park, something that can or of course, if you live in nature, do that. Simply connect with nature. And if you can't get outside for any reason, get a beautiful plant and kind of just sit with it and just kind of be okay, you might think, Well, this sounds a bit hippy New Age, but it's this has been scientific studies that show how better we feel on the kind of run nature. Next thing i'd really invite you to do to help you be in the present moment is a set a limit on your screen time. It's so seductive, and so much fun to be on social media. Yet, if you're filling every square moment that you have by being on screen in some way. Is that really going to help the sovereignty of your soul? Can you limit yourself to a set amount of time on the social media and kind of stick to that?

Unknown Speaker  16:28
Next point is to make sure that you find time to meditate, start small and build a smart, small and build up to more time. I just like to add on my mailing list that is a free recorded meditation that you get access to. And I'm pretty slow to send out emails to a mailing list, I am getting better or I will be getting better. But please feel free to sign up to that. And if for any reason you remember, you can always leave the mailing list. If that's not right for you. And then smashing tip for personal transformation is what healthy habit can you add to your eating habits that will help you today, it could be to have less chocolate, it could be to have a more nutritious rich meal, it could be to drink more glasses of water. Remember, none of us are perfect. But what can you do today. And if there's something that you really feel you'd like me to cover in this, then please feel free to reach out via my website. So without further ado, as promised, here is your meditation, inspired by today's show. Top Tips for meditation is either sit nice and cross legged on the floor of a nice straight back. Always nice to sit on a block or a cushion. Or that's not available for you. You sit in a chair with the back nice and straight. The important thing is you're not slouching. And if you're doing something that requires you concentration, all you need to do is just pause this and you can reconvene the meditation at a time that is good for you. If you're doing the meditation that's begging close your eyes and in your imagination. Can you see yourself the best possible version of yourself? As if you were looking into a mirror? What do you see? What inspires you to simply be? What is fantastic? What is beauty within? What can you get let go off and what can you begin again? Can you pause? Can you be can you learn to plant new seeds? So what do one what small step can you do today? What can you do? Out of all suggestions. Can you learn again to play. So slowly breathing in and out through the nose. feel as if you inhale you bring life into your body right down to your toes. And as you exhale the feel free to let it all go again. Let it be empty, empty. Let the breath go and then back into the flow of a smooth calm deep inhalation, a smooth calm deep exhalation. This highest self you will hire being? What are they telling you? What is it that you can do today to transform yourself in small but effective ways. Don't try to build everything at once. Just pick one thing to work on a time for a month, and then choose something else the following month. Small steps. Remember the story of the hare and the tortoise. Sometimes we need to take it slow, to allow ourselves to really step into that inner wonderful flow.

Unknown Speaker  20:54
So what do you want? Do you feel if you place your hand on your heart, take a deep inhalation, exhale. And if it's if it's not already clear, just say to yourself, higher self, what small step can I do today to transform my being in wonderful ways. And a gentle but effective way. What Pray tell should I do today. And as you sit and allow yourself to be, perhaps the words come to you. But don't worry if they didn't repeat this meditation as often as you need. You may even pick up a journal and start to write the first seeds of your transformation. Whatever you do, it is so very true that you are wonderful just as you are. But well done. Bravo for wanting to go even further go for by taking in the moment and being who you are. Allow that beauty to unfold allowed yourself to be calm and bold. So take some slow calm deep breaths in and out through the nostrils. Come back into the moment come back into the room. Allow yourself to be like a blossom in bloom. Thank you so much. And remember, you can always reach out if you want a personalised meditation for a specific problem that you're trying to work through. And I'll do my best to help you. If not speak to you soon. Have a wonderful day.
